PowerChute PE on Windows 2000, USB not detected

Hi,
I have one Win2k Pro server where I plug the USB cable of an Smart-UPS 800 RS series and it says the USB device is not recognized.

Later, I could not install the PowerChute PE. I tested the same UPS and cable on a Win2k3 server without problems.

I see the USB Device in the Device Manager, under USB devices and it has a yellow mark

How can I make the Win2k detect the USB properly? Is there any USB drivers that I should have in Win2k?

Many thanks
Oliver

The Windows Native UPS service generally uses its own drivers that come with the OS, APC's drivers/software relate specifically to our PowerChute software. Make sure that you have the following drivers on your system: hidclass.sys, hidusb.sys, hidparse.sys, and hid.dll. Make sure that any versions of PowerChute that you may have installed in the past are fully uninstalled. What you may need to do is stop and start the Native UPS service on the PC, go to your device manager and then remove and re-add the drivers from your Win2K CD. You may also want to try a reboot. The UPS should show up as "HID UPS Battery".

I should have some problems with my win2k, so its not APCs fault.

Thanks for the help
