Plug UPS into a Power Strip

Hi everyone, I just bought the APC BX1100LI-MS Battery Backup model. After I read the manual instruction its say that it is recommended to plug the UPS directly into the wall outlet. However, since the wall outlet is quite far from my PC location, I use the power strip. So I want to ask, it is actually fine if I plug the UPS into power strip? Thx before.

Hi Jack,

Schneider Electric recommends against the use of surge protectors, power strips, or extension cords being used in conjunction with a UPS. Plugging your UPS into a surge protector or power strip my cause the UPS to go to battery more often than it would if it was plugged directly into the wall outlet and it may also compromise the ground connection that the UPS needs to properly protect against spikes and surges. In many cases this may also void the Equipment Protection Policy (EPP) of your UPS.

It should be OK, as long as you plug your PC to your APC UPS and you don't have a lot of the other power strip outlets used.
