I have a ES750 battery backup. I have a HP PSC 2210 All-In-One printer and my speakers plugged into a Master Controlled outlet. When I shutdown my computer everything on the master controlled ciruits power down as they should. When I turn the computer back on my printer goes haywire. It seems to get stuck trying to boot up. It makes a tickety-tickety...... noise and won't boot. After about 1 minute I have to turn the printer off and let it sit and then I can turn it back on and it will boot normally. Has anyone had a problem like this with a printer? any suggestions?

you can disable the master outlet feature on the BE750G model that you have or plug it into an always on outlet if you needed to 🙂

what happens if you try something like this without the UPS being in the picture? i am not sure if you think it is the problem or not but we can at least narrow it down.
if you can, i suggest plugging the printer directly to the wall for power, leaving any usb cables or anything still connected and then have the printer turned on or in standby - however you have it when you shutdown the computer and its controlled outlets that the printer is on. then unplug it from the wall (simulating the UPS cutting power to the outlet) and then plug the printer back into the wall (simulating the UPS turning that outlet back on).
if it does the same thing i'd say its an issue with the printer and in general - i havent seen anything like that. I have an HP all in one printer as well and havent encountered anything like that.
if it works alright then we can double check the configuration of the UPS and the outlets as much as we can.

Thanks for your response. That was too easy. I don't know why I didn't think of that. It is a printer issue. When I plug and unplug it from the wall outlet the same thing happens. It must have something to do with how the printer powers down. Obviously the correct shutdown is by pressing the on/off switch. Using the controlled outlet is just like yanking the plug from the wall. I'll contact HP. Worst case I'll just have to use one of the surge outlets and forego the controlled outlet. It's just that when you buy a product you would like it to do what it is advertised to do. Thanks again!

Yeah, those multifunction printers have on-board computers that prefer to not be turned off all the time. It still shouldn't behave the way you describe.
