The default power consumption threshold of the Master Outlet used to trigger on/off of the secondary outlets defaults to 25w. However, when the laptop enters a non-sleep low power state (below 25w) the secondary outlets of external monitor and Dell Thunder Dock are powered off. Setting the power consumption threshold to 10w overcomes the problem but is silently and unpredictably restored to 25w by unknown events or causes. Can't find where the setting is stored in either the Win10 registry or .inf files.
Where is the setting stored and what events cause it to be reset

Hi @fcouperus
Thank you for reaching out to the SE Community, my name is Jon and I will assist you with this query. Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.
I have not encountered this kind of issue with our UPSs that have the Master Control feature. May I please know if the PowerChute software was running when the threshold was restored?
I do not have access to PowerChute software but I believe there are files that can be found inside the installation folder.

Didn't get a notice that you had replied.
Powerchute likely was running or starting while booting. I suspect that when I reboot and return to operating the resident machine in a docked state (where the UPS (model BR1000G) is detected active on a connected USB port) powerchute resets to the default power consumption threshold value of 25W for the BR1000G model.
Just can' find where this is in the decision logic of the powershute code but it is registry stored at:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\APC\PowerChute Personal Edition\3.1.0\Settings]
"ClientLoadThreshold"=dword:00000019

I have the same problem - my earlier reply that never made it on the server:
PCPE 3.1 Power Consumption Threshold
Hello, this occurs to me too. PowerChute personal edition 3.1.0. The ACP is a Back-UPS XS 1500G, firmware 866.L9.D. Despite setting the level to 10W from 25W, it goes back to the 25W setting eventually. I have not found when, but it can be as quick as a few minutes, to weeks. When it does occur, its most annoying as when the laptop batteries are fully charge, the current used drops under 25W causing the APC to shut power to the utility plug, and on a multi-display setup windows moves all apps to the laptop screen, resizing all, not to mention the loss of other devices from the power down.

in Win10 I have a ".reg" file which I run to reset the PowerChute personal edition 3.1.0 system registry value back to "10". The registry file has one line in it:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\APC\PowerChute Personal Edition\3.1.0\Settings]
"ClientLoadThreshold"=dword:0000000a
