ups comparison
Hello everyone, at the following link you can see the comparison between two apc ups directly on their site. I have to connect a video surveillance system consisting of 2 NVRs and a PoE switch to which 8 hikvision ip cams are connected to the ups. I can't find the differences that justify the price difference between the two products. I also noticed that the replacement battery of one is around 60 while the pro is double the figure but even considering the qualitatively better battery I can't understand why so much difference in price. Can you give me a clarification?

This post is very old but for the benefit of others who may be wondering the same. The BR1500GI incorporates more features vs the BX1600MI. It's up to everyone to decide if the extra features are worth the added costs. In no specific order of relevance these are some of the major differences.
- Multifunction LCD control / status vs basic multicolor LED
- Larger 9 A.H. battery vs 7.0 A.H
- Higher Surge Rating 441 vs 273 Joules
- RFI, EMI, Filtering vs Limited to None
- Higher Efficiency vs Less
- Adjustable Voltage vs None
- Equipment Protection: 150K vs 50K Euros.
- Network / Telephone SPD: BX1600MI doesn't offer
- Extended Battery: BR1500GI if configured can add extended battery packs for longer runtime vs None
Given the price is more than double one could argue a person could just buy two of the cheaper BX1600MI. In doing so would have more value and redundancy if this route was taken. A person could place half the network hardware on one UPS and the remaining on the other. Doing so would extend the operating runtime of the protected system. 👍
NOTE: There's nothing stopping a person in upgrading the (BX1600MI) battery to a 9 A.H cell. As they are the exactly the same size but offer more runtime - when the time comes. Both units support Power Chute software so the cheaper unit can offer some features when connected to a computer system.
