PC reboots during power drops when connected to UPS

This was originally posted on APC forums on 5/29/2010

I just bought a APC BR1500LCD 1500VA 865 Watts 8 Outlets BACK-UPS RS and whenever there is the slightest power drop the PC reboots when the UPS switches to battery. Im pretty sure the UPS can handle my PC (Intel Core 2 Duo E8500, 4 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, Radeon HD 4890 and a 600 watt PSU, think an Antec).
Another thing is, I tried another UPS and it still does the same exact thing.

WHY is it doing this? I bought the UPS to protect the PC from being harmed by power drops/surges and its not doing its job.
