PC Self starting

I have recently purchased an updated APC UPS - now a BR550GI - I am now finding that despite shutting down the PC, it has self started at 0425hrs ??? All my power management options are disabled in Device Manager and seems to be only associated with the new UPS. Has anyone any suggestions or changes I can make. Thank You.

Hmm ok. May be related to Master Controlled outlet settings/configuration since this UPS appears to offer that. I understand you are returning it though.

Has it happened multiple times? You could test this theory of it being related to the UPS by temporarily plugging the UPS into another separate power source overnight to see if it does the same thing. I personally at this time don't believe it to be the UPS if the PC was off at the time (versus being on, there being a power outage, and then the computer turning back on after to return to the previous state of ON) but I won't say absolutely not to it being a contributor to a problem.  I've only had personal experience with this type of issue when I had a faulty PC power supply several years ago.

Thanks for your early advice - Only happened the once - seems very odd when all was fine with my old BR1000I - so...I went one step further and turned the UPS off and then all hell let loose, the printer that was plugged into the surge only socket kept being turned on and off by the UPS - also all three UPS lights (ie on/off button and the two either side) kept flickering on and off. Hence, UPS being returned and a new battery purchased for my old unit - I thought I was being cost effective but NO....
