I bought a new APC UPS RS 1000 (*Model BR1000IN*) and have been using it. The PC reboots by itself at irregular intervals, and this problem exists ever since I started using this UPS. I have connected only my PC, 18” TFT monitor and the modem to the UPS.
The problem of the PC rebooting itself was not there when I was using APC UPS 500 (*Model BP500I*). I have now switched back to APC UPS 500, with the same load as above, and the PC is not rebooting. But this UPS gives a battery backup of only about 20 minutes.
My computer has a Celeron CPU, 900 MHz, 1.20 GHz, 384 MB RAM. OS is Windows XP SP3.
I checked for virus and spyware and tested the memory and the results came out clean.
Please help to resolve the problem. Thank you in advance.

my suggestion is to check whether the PC power cord is connected to the surge only outlet or battery backup outlet. if it is connected to surge only outlet, then pls switch over to battery backup outlet and then check whether the problem persists or not. if the problem persists, then pls call India Customer Care Center at 1-800-4254-272/472 for onsite engineer visit.
