Our power outage last week

Last Thursday we had a power outage our RS 1500 did not keep our server up and running. I have the green online button is solid. I did do a test on this RS and it passed. I have check the connections they seem alright. What should my next step be?

If you had software installed check if anything was logged. How long was the outage? Perhaps it ran on battery until it's capacity ran out. In your "test" do you pull the plug of the UPS from the wall and let it run on battery?

The test only tells you that your unit can operate the load for the few seconds of test duration. If you're having a series of outages and the cumulative on-battery time depletes the battery sooner than it can recover, it will run out of battery and shut off your server.

The charge recovery time on the RS 1500 is 8 hours. On the Smart-UPS SUA1500, it's 3 hours. The time represent the replenishing time from completely dead to nearly full, but faster charger also means it can "grab" more power between outages, so if you have frequent outages, you may want to upgrade your UPS.

If your PC/server shutdown immediately after power failure, please check the power connector at the back of UPS?
If your PC power cord connects to white color out let, your PC can not be backed up during power failure coz this outlet (white color) is surge only. Only black outlets backup power from internal battery during power failure.

And please be aware about backup time of this model :
Typical Backup Time at Half Load : 12.7 minutes (432.5 Watts)
Typical Backup Time at Full Load : 3.7 minutes (865 Watts)
So, should be long power failure, the UPS will shutdown automatically and emit Continuous Beeping (the amber On Battery LED will be illuminated) before it shutdowns.
