Hello.
I try to get PChute business to run with a back-UPS RS 500. OS is WinXP. UPS worked well with PChute Personal, but PChute personal showed no voltage graph, that's why I try to switch the SW.
The UPS is connected to the PC using an USP cable provided with the device by the reseller. Again, it worked well with PChute personal.
Everything works swell during installation (agent, server, console). I enter the device and port manually, when installing the agent, or tell it to run autodetect, it finds the same thing that I enter manually. Then, when starting up the console, and trying to add a device, I can select it in the device list, tell the device list to add it, then it says:
Failed to apply the configuration profile to
That's it. After this, if I close the list with "Close", I have no device in the list in the console, and I can't do anything else than stare at an empty console or try to add the device again.
Question: is there a way I could add the device to the device list? Is the device going to work with PChute pro? If so, how?
br,
flj

The first area to start would be to review the APC knowledgebase on the error.

Back-UPS will not work with PowerChute Business Edition over USB. If you wish to use PCBE with a UPS, I recommend that you use a Smart-UPS. The information you receive from PCBE with a Back-UPS is going to be identical to what PowerChute Personal Edition lets you control.
