AVR

Hello!
When input voltage drops under 208VAC AVR kicks in to compensate for low input voltage.
Everything seems to be working fine. But what is bothering me is , when AVR starts to compensate for low input voltage and switches to batteries, Powerchute shows that output voltage goes as high 240-247VAC.
Screen - http://foto.inbox.lv/anarchy91/26-01-2008/AVR.jpg

Shouldnt it be around 220-225VAC ? Can my pc be damaged with so high output voltages ?
Thanks.

UPS model is - SUA1500I

It's less then 10% higher than the nominal 230V. Don't worry.

I don't know why it outputs 243Volts, but I can assure you it won't demage your PSU. Your PSU while working @ 230V as it's nominal input voltage, it can compensate for fluctuations between 180-260V. If your PSU is one with Active PFC don't even bother if the input voltage is 100V or 265V. It'll work fine at anything between 90-260V. AVRs in my opinion are something not necessary for modern PSUs. Switch mode PSU can cope with a relatively wide voltage range and those witch Active PFC can work with anything you give them.

VES,

Your SUA1500I is an international UPS which has a nominal input and output voltage of 230VAC. Keep in mind this is one hot leg, one neutral and one ground. 208VAC is domestic power of 2 hots and a ground. Therefore if the input voltage is too low, AVR should boost it around 12% or so, if not a little more, or even force it on battery which will go back to 230VAC +/-5%

Still 247VAC seems a bit high to me πŸ˜‰
