Operating (ceiling) fans on apc Smart ups
Is it ok to run inductive load like fans on smart ups? They consume about 75 to 100w. Hopefully 1000VA ups shouldn't have any problems.
And can they run for long hours (mostly 2h sometimes 5h)? Here they are modded to connect external batteries, but i doubt they are designed to run long and wonder if issues will arise.

The answers they can run but it is not recommended.
UPS are meant for equipment that needs to be protected from powering off such as modems for continuous internet connection or computers that may lose data when suddenly powered off to give them time to save or gracefully shutdown.
Also consider the runtime of your unit if you are running the fan for 2 hours some 1000VA unit may not have enough runtime to run it for that long and consider that the fan will run on top of your other equipment.
Here is a sample runtime graph of a SMC1000C at 100 watts it can onlky support it for 59 minutes
