OSX 10.6.3 Powerchute high cpu usage
Upgraded my Imac to OSX 10.6.3. After reboot, very high cpu usage via the Activity monitor.
A check indicated usage by Powerchute 1.3.4. Powerchute was using 99% of the cpu cycles.
Deinstallation of PowerChute resolved the symptom.

Unfortunately PowerChute isn't supported on Mac past 10.4.8, so I'm honestly not really surprised it's not working properly... Usually the native support built into the OS works perfectly.
