Hi,
Try resetting the UPS
1: Disconnect any attached load.
2: Unplug the UPS from the wall socket.
3: Disconnect the UPS' internal battery.
4: Push and hold the "On" button on the UPS for 5 seconds
5: Reconnect internal battery.
6: Plug UPS in to known good power source.
7: Turn UPS on.
If it still will not charge after the reset that would indicated the charging circuitry took a hit during the power outage and the UPS should be replaced.

I have the opposite need. I'd like to disable the battery charger, because Im using lithium batteries and have an external charger, SUA1500.

use a diode on the main DC+ cable. Although getting the Voltage right is tricky. Eg. if instead of lithium you had lead acid with V = 12.7V, diode forward voltage drop would be 0.7V -> ups would read 12V out. Also the amps are huge in a UPS, you need huge diodes. IDK if you need to have lithium charger constantly connected to batteries , maybe you need ac isolation transformer in charger AC side, bonding charger/ups dc- battery bus, etc. I ain't a EE. It would be better recreating a solar system -> inverter, charger, battery with AC input /grid vs buying a UPS or doing shady mods especially when you lack necessary knowledge
