Hi... i have an APC ES 650 UPS. Previously i did not use the surge protection only output (which doesn't have battery backup), however now i do use it for my speakers.
i just noticed that even after switching the ups to power off via the small on/off button on the ups, my speakers were still getting normal power, while the battery backup outputs were all off.
So is this behavior normal? Aren't all the four outputs supposed to be off when i put the ups in off mode? i hope it isn't a problem with my ups.
Thanks.

Hi punchsuckr, the surge only outlets should remain on and pass power as soon as the unit is connected to ac wall power. Based on your description its sounds as if the unit is functioning properly. Hope this helps.
