I recently purchased APC Back-UPS (BX625CI-MS) to replace my 4 year-old Intex Ups. We have 24/7 operation and what bother me is that my new APC UPS is getting a very high temperature, and then there will be a beep warming and after couples of annoying beep it will shut off. I already returned the item (under warranty) believing that there's only some defect but with my 2nd new UPS experiencing the same issue, this question pop up in my head.
Does your product is not capable of nonstop operation? Based from our record we experiencing the problem after 20 hour-long usage.
Thanks in advance for answering my inquiry

There seems to be a problem with the link Bill posted, but this one should work.
Normally the seller is the first point of contact, but in all the instances (as a customer) I've asked APC to step in, the did so and handled the problem. The only cases where they haven't gotten involved is when the seller sold a mislabled product or used, out-of-warranty as new. But if your unit is in warranty (I'd expect to see a serial number like xx15xxxxxxxx on a new unit), APC should be able to get this sorted out.

Hi,
Is the UPS running on battery power for extended periods of time or on AC? Also, what is the environmental temperature?
The UPS is designed for 7/24 hour use however it is not designed to run on battery frequently and for long periods of time. Running the UPS on battery frequently and for long periods of time degrades the battery and continual charging and discharging the battery could cause a heat issue.

We have a supply of electricity so I believe that we are using AC unless there is an option where I can decide weather I will going to use AC or battery even we don't have power interruption. Is there any button? (i believe it is fully automatic). I purchased it last week (friday) and from that day we didn't experienced power interruption so far.
Regarding with our temperature we are airconditioned here with 24-27celsius.

Hi,
The environmental temperature is within specifications so if the unit is getting hot the battery could be over charging. You should check the incoming voltage to the UPS to be sure it is within specifications. That unit is designed for 230 volt input. If the incoming voltage is correct I suggest you contact the local Pilipino Technical Support team. Here is a link to the contact web page where you will fing phone numbers and e-mail addresses for local support. http://www.apc.com/site/support/index.cfm/contact-information/

thank you very much. As of now, what i did is to put fan directly to UPS and place it near aircon where cold air blows. It is not getting hot anymore but I know that this will not solve the problem. It is getting hot because there is a problem in my unit and I need to fix it.
thanks for your reply. Unfortunately we have a very poor customer service here in the Philippines. I contacted the computer shop where I bought the item but they reply no more. It is like as long as the product is working, it is OK. They said that it is about my usage and it is not the problem of their product. I said that I tried to use it only for my monitor 25 Watts to see if the problem will persist and yes it is still getting hot.
it is really disappointing but that's my luck from buying APC UPS. I just moved on.
