Hi,
I’ve recently purchased an APC UPS to use with my iMac and peripherals.
I set the unit up this evening. When I plugged my iMac cable into the master outlet socket I heard what I can only describe as the sound of something small breaking and dropping inside the unit. There is now something loose rattling around inside it.
This is my first time using one of these units but this doesn’t seem or sound normal to me.
I’m in touch with the retailer to start a return but thought I’d ask the question here.
Am I right in thinking this isn’t normal?
The unit is the UPS ES700.
Thanks in advance.

Update.
I've taken a closer look at the unit and shone a light into the socket to see what the issue could be. It appears that when i plugged something into it the inside part of the socket became damaged and a part of it broke off. Don't know why this happened as I've never seen anything like this before and wouldn't have expected such a heavy duty unit to be so fragile.
I'll be returning it for a full refund. Not impressed.
I don't think I need to waste any ones time with this problem as it's clearly just a defective product.
Thanks.
