Over the weekend it started beeping with a constant tone and would only stop when it was shut off. I assumed it was a dead battery since it's several years old.
I ordered a replacement battery and after attaching it it still emits a constant tone when turned on. The power on led briefly lights up green when it's turned on then it goes dark and the constant tone starts.
In the manual a constant tone with no led lit indicates an overload shutdown however, nothing is plugged into the unit.
I've pushed the circuit breaker to reset and double checked that battery is connected correctly but I still get the constant tone.
Anything else I can check or try? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Try the reset procedure.
1: Disconnect any attached load.
2: Unplug the UPS from the wall socket.
3: Disconnect the UPS' internal battery.
4: Push and hold the "On" button on the UPS for 5 seconds
5: Reconnect internal battery.
6: Plug UPS in to known good power source.
7: Turn UPS on.

Thanks for the tip Bill but unfortunately, no improvement. I tried it with the old and new battery but now luck.
Maybe it's just time to get a new one?

I agree. Those units do not have user replaceable parts with the exception of the battery so it should be replaced.
