Bought this back on July1st unboxed it and set it aside. Went on vacation for the 4th and got back home this afternoon and decided to hook it up. I connected the battery, plugged it in and all I get is a continuous beep and blinking replace battery light. I've used these before and everything has been pretty straight forward in the past. Do I just have a bad battery or do I need to leave it plugged in overnight to charge?

Ahh, ok, makes much more sense now
If you bought this from a legitimate seller and do have that proof of purchase/receipt available, tech support will update the purchase date and warranty for you to be able to say it is under warranty now.

Yes, for a Back-UPS, I'd let it charge at least 24 hours to be safe. If it is less annoying, turn the UPS off and it will still charge with the battery connected, then turn it back on after the 24 hours. Overnight should be fine but 24 hours is a safe bet.

Still the same beep and flashing light. Guessing bad battery. Can't return it. Stupid me threw the box away before I tried it. Which is something I never do and don't know why I did it this time. Oh well. Guess I'll just buy a new battery and see if that works....hopefully.

If you just purchased it, it should still be under warranty. One last thing - did you open the bottom battery panel and verify the two battery leads are physically connected? I'd do that, and if they are and no change, grab the serial number from the bottom of the unit where you found BE650G1 and I'd contact technical support. Since you've let it charge for 24 hours and it is verified as properly and securely connected, you should be eligible for a replacement battery under the factory warranty.

Yes. They were connected. I was just checking to see what I needed to do to file under the factory warranty and based on serial number it says it was manufactured in 2011. No wonder the battery is dead. Still have my reciept and my fingers crossed..lol
