Need help finding the right Back-UPS for my newly built Gaming rig

Greetz,
I just bought the 750G about a month and a half ago, but it doesnt seem to be the right choice for my computer. When gaming, I keep getting the "battery back-up overload pop-up box" .I only have 2 inputs on my battery-back-up side, PC and Monitor and 5 normal inputs on surge-only.What would be the best solution for this ??

My Specs :
Asus P6T Deluxe 1366
Intel Core i7 950
EVGA GTX285 2G VC
Zalman 9900CPNS
Corsair 1000W PSU
3x2G Corsair Dominator Memory
WD HDD Raptor 300G (internal)
WD HDD 500G (external)
Samsung DVD Burner (internal)
Logitech 5.1 Z5500
Samsung 2433 24" Monitor
Cable Modem
Dynex Router
Epson CX8400 Printer
MS laser K&M
Vista 64bit w/SP2

Thz, : )
Mike

" Well yes theres is, its called SLI and that's why I choose it.PSU requires 650W Min for 1 VC according to EVGA's website. That's why I chose it for future expansion"

Exactly. The reason I said the UPS you choose were to small is because you would be using that much power. I said there's no reason for a 1000w psu unless your going to need it which you will so you have choosen to small of UPS's.

Hope you find a good one that meets your needs.

Hi Mike,

I checked on Corsair's web site for that power supply and saw this, "Active Power Factor Correction (PFC) with PF value of 0.99 to ensure clean and reliable power." Given that it is a PFC power supply, that its a 1000W power supply and that you will have that extra stuff to plug in I would highly suggest a SUA1500 (http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index.cfm?base_sku=SUA1500). It will give you a pure sine wave which will work much better with that large of a PFC PSU. Also, I would suggest not plugging in the printers into the UPS but rather a surge protector. The reason being is printers can draw a lot of power and you do not want to get your self into a situation where you are overloading the UPS and it can't support your equipment.

Greetz,

Thz for reply, but that UPS is alittle pricey since considering I just plopped down 3K to build this.I was thinking either the BN1250LCD or BR1300LCD.This is in more of my ballpark range of prices.Would either of these be sufficient ??

Thz,
Mike

I would think barely to no. The UPS you listed provide 750w - 780w respectivly. Overall the parts you listed would probably take you right up to that or even over(other wise theres no reason to put a 1000w psu in your PC). Also I'm assuming you wouldn't plug in your surround sound system into the UPS because that is uneeded load not to mention a max possible of 500w. You asked for a good recommendation and you were given a really good option. The ones you listed are great UPS but you want your PC to operate at full potential then you should also purchase a UPS which actually meets your needs.

Mike,

Let me add another point to this thread,,,you may need to refer the Application note titled "UPS selection for system with active PFC power supplies".
http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/RMUZ-7DTKRC_R1_EN.pdf

I hope that it helps.
