My 1st and possibly last APC. New Back-UPS XS1500 fan cycles on and off.

I have a 500W TV plugged in. The unit started OK but after a while I noticed the fan cycling on and off. Thought it was just the new batteries charging until I started watching the wattage display.

Fan starts cycling on and off between 330W and 360W. Between 338W and 348W of that range the fan stays on hard. I tested this for well over and hour and it is consistent. Fan does not come on outside of the 330-360W range.

I have troubleshot lots of UPS problems being a former tech at Trace Engineering. This looks like a bug. Is there a know reset that is a permanent fix?

I will probably return the unit back tomorrow. Not sure If I want to try another.

Do you have a serial # for this UPS? I wanted to have an idea of how old this unit is.

I am sorry, I already returned the unit. It was one of two left at the BestBuy store here in Everett, WA.
