I have used my XS 1300 for years under Windows 10. Yesterday I upgraded to W10 build 1809 and found that when I shutdown my W10 Desktop the monitor did not turn off. The Desktop is connected to the Master outlet and the monitor is connected to outlet 7. This just began to happen with the upgrade to 1809.
Please help me.
Thankyou.

Hi John,
I'm going to point out the obvious first, but check to ensure the master outlet feature is enabled by having the leaf icon lit on the display.
If that is on then it sounds like the unit just needs to be programmed to recognize the device you have plugged into the master outlet. Have you tried to program this yet? Do you actually turn the computer off or put it in hibernate mode? It could be the update to the PC changed a setting to the computer and it is drawing slightly more power in hibernate. In turn this could be causing the other outlets to not turn off. Regardless, I would run through these quick steps.
1. Be sure your computer is plugged into the master outlet. Place the computer into Standby or Hibernation mode, or turn it off--depending on when you want the other outlets to turn off.
2. Press MUTE and DISPLAY buttons simultaneously and hold for six seconds, until the leaf icon flashes three times and the Back-UPS beeps three times.
3. The Back-UPS will now recognize and save the threshold level as the new threshold setting for the master device.

Thank you!
OK, I will give that a try. Do you mean turn off just the PC and leave the monitor on or turn it off also?

Just the PC. When you turn off the PC while plugged into the master outlet and do those steps it is essentially telling the BackUPS to shut off the other outlets whenever you turn off the PC. If you wanted the outlets to turn off when you put the PC in hibernate/standby mode then you would follow those steps with the PC in hibernate/standby mode while plugged into the master outlet.

That seems straight forward. Will give it a try tonight and let you know the results.
Thanks again.

OK, David. Here is the latest as of this morning.
If the monitor is plugged into outlet 7 on the unit:
a. When a power outage occurs the monitor and PC stay on and things work as they should.
b. When the PC is shutdown via Start>power off of restart>shutdown the PC turns off but monitor stays on.
If the monitor is plugged into one of the outlet 4's on the unit:
a. When a power outage occurs the PC runs from the battery but the monitor goes off.
b. When the PC is shutdown both the PC and monitor are off.
GO FIGURE!
I have restored Win10 build 1803 and the same behavior occurs. Guess I was wrong about 1809 being the culprit.
Thanks again.

Hi John,
The outlets on the unit are split in two groups. One side is battery backup and the other side is surge protection only. So if the monitor turns off as soon as power is lost and the PC stays on then it sounds like the monitor is plugged into the surge only side.

Yes, that is what the pdf manual says but the fact remains that when the monitor is plugged in on the 'backup' side and I shut the machine down using either the prescribed shut down procedure of Windows 10 or just push the power button on the computer the monitor does not turn off.
I don't think I mentioned the monitor is a Samsung flat panel.

Which outlet on the battery backup side are you plugging the monitor into? Not all are controlled by the master outlet. The ones controlled by the master outlet should be colored white.

The image shows the monitor hookups. Incidentally the top two are gray. It doesn't matter which one I use -- they all result in the monitor LED (on/off) still shows it as being on even though the screen is blank exept for a small message saying something like, "Check the cable."

Hi,
The outlet groups should be labeled Battery backup and surge only. The battery backup should have a master outlet/s. The surge only outlets should have a group listed as controlled. When the master outlet is in green mode and the load falls below the set limit the surge only outlets listed as controlled will power off. When the master outlet is greater than the set limit the controlled outlets will be power on.
If you want you monitor to power down when the PC is off you need to plug the PC into the master outlet and the monitor into 1 of the controlled outlets. Configure green mode and set the threshold needed to power down the controlled outlets when the load on the master of low / off.
Please note that if there is a power failure the PC will receive power from the battery however the monitor will be powered off as the surge only outlets do not receive battery backup.
