Least expensive UPS with disable self test ability?

Hi, I'm looking for the least expensive UPS (APC or otherwise, although I prefer APC), that has the ability for me to dis-able the self test that occurs every two weeks By default.

i'm pretty sure some of the SUA line of APC UPSes allow you to change the interval or disabled the self test. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

older discontinued models are fine as I will most likely buy a used unit  since I'm looking for the lowest cost possible as this is for a home server.

my reason for wanting to disable the self test (and I wish this was offered on lower end model units) is my power very rarely goes out here, my current uptime without a battery backup is currently over 900 days, with self-test ON I'm essentially assuring that not only will my equipment and server be subjected to a fairly violent voltage/electricity spike EVERY two weeks when the unit clicks over to battery and then back for its self test, but also for at least one outage in a two year period, When the batteries finally do fail and the self test fails thus cutting power to my server and equipment (i.e had I not had a UPS the server would still be online because as I said the power is very reliable here and 900 or more days of of time with no electricity outages is quite common).

additionally we had equipment located at a different part of the country in the past and noticed every two weeks the router would lock up, after lots and lots of troubleshooting we realized that the lock ups were occurring exactly when the UPS was doing it self test every two weeks and removing the UPS resolve the issue, yet another reason why I love the convenience of maintaining power during brief outages but refused to use UPSes because of their every 2 week self tests.

thanks!

Anyone know if the SMC  line or specifically the BR 1500 G units allow the self test to be disabled?

Thank you

Hi,

From the LCD panel of a Smart-UPS SMT you can configure the unit to run a self-test never, start up only, start up +7 days, start up +14 days, start up +7 since, start up +14 since.

great!  Thanks,  those units look great, however I'm looking for a unit that is compatible/uses the 12v 9 amp hour batteries if possible as I have four of these brand-new and would love to make use of them.

I can't recall the unit, but in the past I had an APC UPS that definitely allowed me to dis-able the self test and used the 12 V 9 ah inexpensive, common batteries.

thanks
