KIND OF A BAD RAP!!!

Was on comp USA's site tonight and wow some bad luck or what? [http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1237271&csid=ITD&body=REVIEWS]
I have a XS1500 and have had nothing but great luck. Kind of wondering if this can get seen by the big boys and have them reply or remove it.?
Thoughts any one.?
Mark

Quote of second review down:
REVIEW BY: Reviewed Feb 27, 2009
This UPS is so bad... First of all It came in a recycled box with tape on it. I opened it up it included the following things: The UPS power supply. NO MANUAL NOTHING JUST THIS BIG BEAST... I plugged it in and plugged all of my cables into it. I turned it on and every light in every room in my house FLICKERED... I though everything was going to explode. I ended up having electricity only in my room and every other room in my house was dead... no ELECTRICITY NOTHING AT ALL!! This beast mother was SUCKING OUT ALL OF THE ELECTRICITY IN MY HOUSE OMG!!! This is seriously ridiculous. After running for 30 minutes everything just stopped. I had no power in my house. I pulled out my flashlight and was on my wait to the basement. I tripped and fell down the stairs. I got to the electric panel and saw that I had burned my FUSES!!! ALL OF THEM... THIS THING DESTROYED MY HOUSES ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. I ended up paying $1200 for a new electrical system. DONT BUY THIS YOULL KILL YOUR HOUSE...

The fact that it used a recycled box with tape on it only proves that it was a CompUSA "refurb" or repackage. He also got no manuals or any software with the UPS so who knows what the previous customer that owned it did (DLxx units are Dell OEM units only, so who knows how this got into the inventory). He doesn't specify anything in terms of load, etc. He also claims that it fried his entire house's electrical system, which would be pretty much impossible to do in terms of applied load before "frying the UPS". Also, how would this affect his entire house? It's a 3 wire HNG setup/plug that at MOST could trip the single breaker it draws from if there's something seriously wrong with the UPS. There's no qualification in the post to determine how bad this customer's electrical system was outside of the UPS.

This is a reseller's website and I feel that it would be rather suspect on APC's part to request removal of a bad review of one of our UPS', especially since what he describes could be a symptom of "reseller re-sale policy" (take that as you will), or just a wiring problem on his end. His post isn't profane, and assuming it was, we don't have access to that forum. We rarely remove posts that include complaints here on our forums, much less another company's.

Edit: We appreciate the concern and effort it took to point this out to us, but it looks like the UPS is scoring above average or "very good" to most customers, and as someone who browses customer ratings sites myself, I think potential buyers will sort through any "unhelpful" negative posts.

Yes thanks for the reply. I kind of felt I needed to roll up my pant legs while I was reading that. Its just to bad someone would spout out all that crap in the first place. I have like I said had nothing but great luck with my equipment and have only had one tiny little issue with a usb cable and the tech dept. rushed me a new one in like 48 hours flat for FREE I might add to. My guess would be he fabricated this story and filed a claim with his insurance as well. Some people make up and tell these stories so much they start to believe them selves.
Its a shame that a great company that's been at this for years and makes excellent products for residential as well as commercially has the put up with bone heads like that.
Your 100% correct about where the heck that unit came from or what its been through if in fact any of it even happened at all?
Just figured I would point it out as even I was took back from this story.
Keep up the great work APC !!!
