Hello,
We had an older UPS with 2 computers and monitors connected to it. It didn't have enough slots to plug in computers to the battery backup, so we purchased the APC UPS. We switched them and the APC would beep occassionally. I switched it back to the older one and saw that though it didn't beep, but it would use the battery backup from time to time. We had an electrician test the outlets and he said they were fine. I plugged the 2 new APCs in and they didn't not beep, but they didn't have equipment attached to them. Any ideas why the UPS' would lose power and switch to battery backup?
Thanks,

Adjust your sensitivity settings on the UPS. Install PowerChute to one of the PC's and let the software monitor the UPS. That should fix the problem.

Thanks for the info. I'm assuming that the software allows me to adjust the sensitivity.

So long as it's a PC and not a MAC, yes, you will be able to.

What model did you get? Some have a button on the back that lets you change it and some you can do it with HyperTerminal equivalent in Mac with a right cable.
A laser printer on the same circuit as computer will often cause the issue you're having, so if you have one, try to move the printer or the computer to a circuit fed from a different branch.

I have model back-UPS ES 350. We do have PC's to hook it to and yes, one of the items are the surge portion was a laser printer.
Please clarify "move the printer or the computer to a circuit fed from a different branch"
Thanks again!
