I have a few questions with my new Back-UPS BX1500G

I just bought a new BX1500G from Best Buy, and got everything hooked up and PowerChute installed on my Win7 PC.

After testing out the UPS, i pulled the plug from the wall and the UPS switched to battery right away and about 1min later PowerChute shutdowns my computer. So far so good.

My PC, Monitor, Router, and Cable modem is plug into the battery sockets. After my computer turns off and my monitor goes to sleep, i get about 200mins just for the router and modem! This is great that I can just then whip out my laptops and use them while waiting for the power to come back on.

But my question is that, after I go ahead and plug the UPS back into the wall outlet, it seems to take about a 30sec-1min for it to sense that the AC is back on, and it seems to "reboot" the UPS. Is this normal?
My first blackout test, right after my computer shut down and I plug the UPS back into the wall, i hit the power button on my PC to start it up while still on battery mode it seems, then the UPS seem to reset thus my PC turns off during POST, then it restarts and of course it warns me that it lost power or failed to post last time around.

I thought it would seamlessly transfer back to AC power without "resetting". I tried it once again, this time I unplugged it for about 30sec, It went to battery mode, I plug it back in, and it instantly went back to AC mode. So it seems like Im only having problem after I shutdown the computer.

EDIT: I did another test, and It looks like it resets after i plug the UPS back to AC. It reboots and reset power to all devices plugged into the battery ports. I watch my router and cable modem reset when the UPS reboots and goes back to AC mode.
1.UPS switches seamlessly from AC to battery then back to AC if I unplug it from the wall for about 30sec and back again.
2.UPS switches seamlessly from AC to battery and then shutdowns the PC after about 1min, then when AC is plugged back in, it don't seem to sense AC power for about 1min, then before switching back to AC mode, the UPS resets/reboots and all seems normal and now is on AC mode.

Sorry for a messy post! But any insight would be great!

After the graceful shutdown is finished, the UPS will basically go into a sleep mode until AC power returns. This basically cycles power so computers with the option enabled in the BIOS will power back on automatically after power is restored.

I'd say if you want to keep using your UPS on battery, shutdown the computer yourself so the UPS doesn't go to sleep after the graceful shutdown. So you could change the software to shutdown the computer after say... 5m on battery, since you want it to shutdown in your absence but figure you can shut it down yourself within 5m if you're around to do so. That way it will only initiate the graceful shutdown & sleep mode on the UPS if you're away.

Oh, ok, now I understand why it does that. The 4 page manual didnt say anything about that! haha As long as that normal for this UPS then i'll be ok with it and will look for the bios setting to restart my computer when AC power is back. It would be nice tho if they let me chose the "Master" port to be the only one that gets cycled, but I guess i can understand.

One last thing, would the sleep mode effect my router/modem after the computer turns off? it seems like they are still on and with their low power draw, it can run off the UPS for a good while.
So the bottom line is that if,
1. PowerChute shutdown my computer, it sends info to the UPS to go to sleep afterward, and then It will cycle the power when AC power is back on to restart PCs that have that feature enabled in the bios.
2. If i manually shutdown my computer when It gets switched to battery mode, and once AC power is back the UPS will not cycle and it will switch back to AC mode without rebooting those ports.

Thanks for your answer!

When the UPS goes to sleep, it should turn off the other outlets. Maybe you didn't wait long enough? Or maybe something else is going on...

Your other points are essentially right, keeping in mine the above operation.
