Hi,
In preparation for the storm about to hit us, I was tasked with checking all our UPS units out.
We have three Smart 1400 units SU1400BX120, two 725ES units and one 1000 RS unit.
I will hunt for the manuals, but would appreciate replies as well. Thanks.
Dean

that will link you to all the tech specs on the units it sounds like you have. on the "Documentation" tab, you will find all the manuals available. if you find you have different model numbers, just plug them into the search feature on apc.com, and the tech specs on the unit should come up.
the easiest way to test all of these units is by pulling the plugs from the wall - what we refer to as the pull plug test. this will simulate a power outage. I'd like to note that if you think there are any issues with the UPSs or just arent sure, it may be a good idea turn off unplug any critical equipment from them so that they dont turn off when you do this pull plug test. you could maybe test it with a lamp or something non critical. i would anticipate that they work fine though if they have been taken care of - battery replacements, making sure the batteries are actually connected, etc
also, the UPS does its own self test every two weeks by default so if you've got all green lights on the front, you should be good to go.
alternatively, in each manual, it will be noted on how to do a "self test" on each of the different UPSs. this puts the UPS on battery for ~30 seconds. i recommend the pull plug because you can make it last for a minute or so which may be a little more useful to see if it lasts at least a couple of minutes.
let me know if you have any questions.
