I have had an ES 550 for about 6-8 months or so. It is used for entertainment center....TV, receiver, cable box, DVD. It has been fine except for past month or so. About every 6-9 days, during the night (TV, etc not in use), the alarm (steady tone) will go off. I push on/off, turn it back on and all is fine for another week or so. I have several other ES's also, other parts of house....data center, sump pump area....no problems with those.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

it sounds like the UPS thinks its battery is disconnected which can also mean that the voltage is low and the battery would need to be replaced.
in the UPS user manual i posted on my first post, you can cross check the symptom that you mentioned.

so it is the constant tone you said? can you tell us what LEDs you see illuminated before you turn it off then back on?
i will attach the manual to this post which address the LED/audible tone combinations.
i am assuming this is a BE550R since the new BE550Gs just came out a month or two ago. please confirm that the bottom of the UPS says BE550R though.

Thanks much. Yes, it is the BE550R. And yes, constant tone. I will wait for the next time and see what the light/s actually are on.

It would be great to find out the serial number off the white barcode sticker on the bottom of this UPS. This would indicate the true age of the unit, including any time spent in distribution or on store shelves.

The serial number is
3B0729X14401
Not sure what that means, but there it is.

During the tone, does the UPS stop providing power to the equipment on the "battery backup" outlets?
If not, then the indication seems to point towards battery replacement. This would be the recommended course of action. Your UPS is under warranty at this point.

Well, it has been a long time since it did it again (seemed it was like once a week when I first posted this). Today it did it again. Constant tone, red light flashing.
ETA....the power was out to those items on the battery backup outlets.
