hi,i have a BE650Y-IN Backup UPS.its drawing a load of 90W.i have a single pc connected to it.
since the past few days, when the power goes off,the ups battery is discharging completely in less than a min!
then it just shuts off.
the ups is 1year old.purchased in june 2k7.
however, when i connected my battery to a friend's ups(same model),the battery worked for around 20 mins.which is the expected backup time, whereas his battery, put in my ups, shutdown in <1min.
what might the problem be ?
how do i resolve this ?
PS- powerchute is set to shutdown with 5MIN of battery remaining.however, the ups just goes off, within a few seconds, before windows has a chance to power down.

are you able to try plugging in another device to the UPS on the battery back up outlets, other than the PC? I'd try that, then unplug the UPS from the wall and see how long it lasts.
assuming it does the same exact thing, it sounds like you may have a bad battery. if you can, to confirm, you may try taking the battery out of your friends UPS (after powering everything off) and putting it inside of yours, then trying that to see how long, with a known good battery, the battery power lasts.
if it works fine with a new battery, you can contact APC support and request a new battery and tell them what you've tried.
