How do I reset APC PowerChute Personal Edition v3.0.2 after switching to a different APC UPS?

Hello.

Earlier today, I connected a different APC UPS (Back-UPS XS 1500 (model: BX1500G)) with the same USB cable connection but my installed APC PowerChute Personal Edition v3.0.2 (no newer version found in its updater) still thinks I am using the former APC UPS (Back-UPS ES 750). How do I reset my installed APC PowerChute Personal Edition so it will show the correct details like the model number? I am using them with my old updated 64-bit Windows 7 HPE SP1 desktop PC.

Thank you in advance. 🙂

Hi,

Stop the APC Data Service and APC UPS Service then restart the APC UPS Service, then the APC Data Service. The APC Data Service is dependant on the UPS Service so the Data Service needs to be stopped first and started second.

Ah, thanks. Reboots didn't fix it to, but your suggestions gave me new clues. I forgot I disabled both APC services. So I started them and retried PowerChute, and saw the correct datas. PowerChute should had told me that it needed its own services to be started since I manually disabled them.
