I just now installed a BR 1500 Back UPS. It's sitting, in an upright position on its stand, under my computer desk. Okay, but sticks out a little due to a shelf behind it. There's a chance it might get kicked or knocked over. I would like to reposition it on the left side of the desk next to my mid-tower PC. How close to the PC case can I place it or is this not advisable.

Larry,
You can place this UPS right next to the PC. I have a UPS which is very close to the PC. I have not had any issues with this position since I installed them.
For your information, Some not all monitors are shielded the same from the effects of transformer noise. APC's Back-UPS products meet the industry approvals for all UPSes. If you have a Monitor that distorts when the Back-UPS product transfers to battery, boost, or trim we recommend moving the Back-UPS product at least 3 feet away and see if it stops.
I hope that this helps.

Thank you.
I'll give it a try.
My monitor is a couple feet away and is not affected by the BR 1500.
I have had the BR 1500 up and running for two days now and the unit is working perfectly.
