Help Troubleshoot beeping.

I have a BE500R that been in service for 4-5 years. Battery has NEVER been replaced. Battery Voltage is about 12V. The device beeps twice about every 2 seconds. Everything plugged into it still operates. There is 1 constant flashing red light. If I cycle the power, the flashing and beeping will stop. but usually within 24 hours, it'll do it again. A week ago, it had a CONSTANT LOUD BEEP, everything plugged into it worked but I unplugged everything from the unit for a week and now have the constant red light flashing with 2 beeps every 2 seconds. Fried or just a battery?

It sounds like the battery is bad even tho it has 12 volts doesnt mean it can support a load

Hi,

Is it a Red LED flashing or is it alternating Green and Red LED? If it is the first one it means that the UPS is experiencing what we call as the disconnected battery. If it is the second one it is a bad battery situation. And like what Wwallender has suggested a battery replacement is the first thing that you would think of.
