Had a relative pass away and was given some UPS units. I will have other threads for some ES 750 models.
Issue 1 - This ES 350 model BE350U was hooked up to a Sony 17" CRT monitor and Dell Inspiron 8400. When I removed the ES 350 from the wall outlet it shut off immediately and beeped over and over until I powered it off and plugged it back in. It was charged 100%. I know this unit only does 200W but when this setup was hooked up to a ES 750 the PowerChute software said it was pulling 140W to 180W at times.
Issue 2 - I figured maybe the load was too much for the computer setup so I tried a Sony 13" CRT TV instead. The TV got caught in a power on/off loop. It kept trying to turn on and off over and over, I had to disconnect it from the ES 350 to make it stop. I think I may have powered it on with the remote while simultaneously taking the ES 350 off the wall outlet. Maybe my timing wasn't good, or even smart for that matter. I tried again, and the TV stayed powered on until the ES 350 lost battery power, then the ES 350 shut off.

yes, it does mean it was made in 2003 and potentially the originally battery.
to me it sounds like the UPS is very oversized. even if you draw 140 watts to 200 watts, i imagine, especially with an older battery that you'd get virtually no runtime. it sounds like the unit is undersized for any relatively modern computer system. same thing with the TV - do you know what the draw is on that? the BE350U is something i'd use for a small load such as an alarm clock or phone where as a TV or computer might be too much for it. i definitely think it sounds like the original battery is still in it too which is another issue. we can't expect it to provide the correct amount of runtime with a battery that is possibly around 8 years old. based on the behavior, it does seem like that is the case. and yes, with these smaller units, rather than guessing, it might be worthwhile to trade it in for a new unit with new battery and warranty since the battery for a unit like this might almost cost as much as a new unit and you don't get a warranty on the UPS with a new battery.

I do not know when the battery was last replaced, I received this unit in August.
Model: BE350U
Serial: AB0334240991
Does that 03 mean 2003? Yikes, this may need to go in the recycle bin...
