Hi all,
I am getting a UPS for 3 devices I have in a small rack.
I was wondering, does the Back-UPS Pro series do a graceful shutdown to all connected devices once there is a power failure?
I was unable to find what I need from the website.
Thanks in advance!!!

Hi
yes this can be achieved, by running daemons on the non connected to the ups computers, and getting the connected ups computer to send a message to initiate shutdown.
I do this from my mac, to shutdown down my nas.
Modifications to both systems scripts were required, its not easy, but it is possible ( and free!!)
Perhaps you can provide more information on what is connected to the ups, and what you want to shutdown.

any Back UPS can only shutdown one attached client via USB - it can do this via Powerchute personal edition and a supported operating system or if the native OS as built in support.
If you need to shutdown multiple clients gracefully, you'll want to take a look at these (more pricier) options: Referenced content removed
do all of these clients require a graceful, unattended shutdown? if not, then you can just plug them in and then the UPS will turn off when it exhausts it battery and cut output power. i couldnt tell based on your initial question if you required a graceful shutdown.
