The current design of APC Smart-UPS self-tests only allows interval-based execution (e.g., every 14 days) starting from the last power-on event. There is no option to schedule tests at a specific time or day, which creates major challenges for enterprises that need predictable baselining during maintenance windows.
Treating this as a design choice rather than an oversight is unacceptable. Most APC customers expect this capability, and failing to deliver it is a poor business practice that ignores consumer needs. Competitors offer this flexibility, and APC should too.
Please add functionality to configure exact times for automatic self-tests (e.g., weekly at 2:00 AM). This is critical for compliance, SLA adherence, and operational stability.

APC/SE mid-level manager somewhere thinking: "Hmm, I wonder how much we could charge for the subscription?"
Bottom line: Sadly, there's not sufficient financial incentive for this company to even consider the request, never mind creating a budget for the coding required to build it (although I think it is a terrific idea).

I would like to add that if Power Chute is not a must have then you may consider using NUT.
Than run a CRON job to initiate a Self Test whatever time / date is required. If you decide to pursue this let us all know how it all turns out as to success / fail.
