I just bought a UPS a week ago and finally have a chance to plug it into the outlet. I have my desktop, table light and monitor plugged into the UPS and then the UPS into the wall outlet for over 24 hours. The power is on all the time and when there was a power outage yesterday, everything was shut down. There's no backup electricity at all, so what's wrong with this UPS? I never install the software since I don't need the backup of the files. Can anyone help me out how I am supposed to make this UPS work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot for reminding that there are actually 2 sets of outlets here. Now you solve my problem and I just tested and it works fine. Right on, bud!!!

Hi Saijim. There are two separate banks of outlets on that UPS. One is labeled surge protection only and the other is labeled battery backup plus surge protection. Could you please confirm that the equipment was plugged into the battery backup outlets? Did you happen to notice what the unit did when the power went out? For example, did the LED change color or did the unit make any sort of beeping noise? Lastly, if you look on the back or bottom of that unit there's going to be a white sticker with two bar codes and two numbers on it, could you please provide both of those number?
Thanks!
