We had a power outage here the other day. When powering back up, 2 computers would not power up. Upon pulling the UPS out, I noticed that the plastic bottom was melted in the corner where the power cord goes into the unit. (same corner that has the on/off switch)
This happened on 2 separate units, both the ES 500 series. I am very concerned that this could have started a fire as they were both sitting on a wooden desk in my shop.
Any idea what might have caused this? I have 8 APC battery back ups in my shop. I am VERY concerned about the chance for a fire.
Please advise.....Thanks.
