[EASY UPS BVX 900 LI-IN] Forced Shutdown After 2 Hours on Battery — Need Help Disabling Timer
Hi all,
I have an APC EASY UPS BVX 900 LI-IN, and I’m facing a strange issue:
When running on battery, it shuts off exactly after 2 hours, every single time. This happens even if:
The load is minimal
The battery still has plenty of charge
No overload or thermal issues are present
So it’s not due to low battery, but seems to be a built-in timer or firmware limitation.
I’d like to disable or extend this 2-hour limit. It’s causing problems during longer power cuts where the battery still has juice but the UPS turns off anyway.

If the system had a data port to connect to APC PCSS you could adjust the default runtime.
Given this isn’t an option this isn’t a choice. If you require longer operational runtime a larger UPS is the correct path to follow or one that allows extended battery packs to be added.
The RBC is rated to provide 2-5 years of service based on usage, temperature, and environmental conditions. The system is designed to shutdown before the RBC is 100% depleted as its rated to provide 260 cycles before degradation of the cell(s).
