Can anyone tell me difinitevely the differnece between the br1500rs model and the bx1500 xs model. There seems to be conflicting info on these two items. Some say they are infact exactly alike, just sold though different retailers, while others say that the bx model goes to battery power on overvoltage and has no protection for data lines.

Dan
The XS is a retail model that does not offer AVR Trim, and there is no Cat5 protection. Other than that, they have the same functionality. It's just a child product of the RS line.

That seems to be the overall concensus on several sites , so infact the battery will come on when trim is needed? And the rs model is not available to all retailers, correct?

Settle the difference? Sure
I've worked at APC for over 2 years, and am on the escalation team. We pride ourselves on that team on being APC's best single-phase technicians. The person that Robert probably spoke with on the phone had been working with the company for probably no more than 2 months.
Please keep in mind the information I have provided you is for the tower only, BR/BX1500, not the LCD models. If you meant the LCD's, they are in fact, the same.

If the voltage is too high, you are correct in that the UPS will transfer to battery. The RS is direct from website order only.

A recent search at amazon finds a review of the br 1500 to have information by a buyer (Robert Scott) that says he spoke with a "tech" at apc that stated the br and bx models were identical and that the letters only indicated a point of sale, and that neither model had trim protection, can you settle the difference between the two, thanks
