Dead BackUPS XS 800

Hi,

My employer was giving away old/moody/etc IT equipment, and I picked up a BackUPS XS 800.

It doesn't seem to work.

It wasn't powering on initially (just beeping once and that was it), but now it does, but it just stays with the 'on battery' light and clicks every few seconds.

(I happened to have another XS800 that works, I tried the battery from that one, same problem, so it's not the battery that's bad.)

Any thoughts? Did I just lug a very heavy expensive paperweight from work?

Well first I would make sure the unit is getting good power from the wall. You can also try to plug the unit in to another outlet. Is it currently plugged in directly to the wall?
