Data sent to APC by Powerchute

Can anyone tell me what are the informations sent to APC by Powerchute when you activate the data report feature (I don't know if it's written "data report" in the english version, mine is in portuguese...).

Does APC really analyze informations like performance, input voltage, status?

Thank you!

Your PCPE screenshot is the same thing as mine, in english though.

That's why I asked since it tells it collects data regarding the power quality.

Since APC don't specificaly say what are the information gathered and sent, I became curious, but it seems all the information regarding the perfomance of the unit and how the software is used is sent to them.

Thank you!

i believe it used for seeing what features of the software most. so it will tell APC you look at the "performance" section of powerchute 5 times a day or something like that.

I thought it sent information regarding the power quality, how many under and overvoltages, noise and blackouts the unit has gone through... because in powerchute it says this feature allows APC to analyze the power quality of your region and that it would allow APC to develop better products. I also think APC would know where the information is coming from based on the IP address of the sender and the UPS serial number, so they would know what country this unit has been sold and is being used. Could this be possible?

Let's say APC has ways of knowing the voltage being fed to my UPS and that would tell them my region is 115V or 220V and this would tell them my region or country would need more units that work at 115V or 220V available...

I'm asking these stuff just out of curiosity. I would really like to know in detail what are the informations sent to APC. I'm not concerned about privacy issues. I trust APC is not getting any private data from my PC.

Thank you!

hmm..

i was thinking of what the ISX manager data collection "feature" does.

see my attachment "isxm data collection"

but yeah, the powerchute personal edition one sounds a little different.

see my "PCPE data collection" screenshot for that.
