Is there any source of data on power outages, either national or, better, by power company or region? I.e., how many outages per year, how long did they last? and so on... It's likely that major weather-related power outages (hurricanes, ice storms) last longer than equipment failures or human error, so having data for my specific area would be better than national data.
In any event, I'd like to know what the distribution of power outage durations are in my area so I can judge how many hours of UPS coverage to provision for different applications.
Can someone point me to real data?
Thanks!
