Noisy Back-UPS ES 500

What seem to be the problem with my APC Back-UPS ES 500 which suddenly became noisy? Everytime I switch it on the the continous noise comes out. It's irritating. I've been using it for a year now to my desktop computers.

Can you be a little more specific? Is it a beeping, chirping, grinding, etc noise? Are there any LEDs on or flashing when this happens? Does the UPS still work as intended by powering everything and supporting it during a power event?
