I am trying to configure the 2200 to recognize the external battery.
I have the 48v connected to the 2200VA correctly. I set up a machine (WinXP SP2) with the 2200 connected to it via USB.
I have tried all the methods I could find online, but am hitting a wall. I've used Powerchute Business, but the instructions are vague.
Can anyone give the newb some better directions on how to do this? I will provide more detail if needed.
Thanks in advance.

i dont have access to PCBE right now, and will check tomorrow, but if you login to the interface and then click on your UPS name, which probably says Smart UPS 2200XL, there should be a couple different options under it including something like Configuration. It should be under that menu or some place around there where you see something like Number of External Battery Packs and then you'd update the count to 001. if it is 48 battery pack where the model begins with UX or UXA, then those count as 5 so you'd put 005 for each one. the SU or SUA battery packs only count as 1.
hope this gets you going. if it doesnt, tomorrow I will post a screenshot.

Thanks for replying.
Where you start is where I am getting stuck. Where is the interface located, how do I get to it?
Thanks again!

oh haha. sorry. make sure the APCPBEAgent service is running in the registered services. if not, start that. then, to access the business edition interface via the web browser, go to http://127.0.0.1:3052 or if remote, http://
as long as you have java installed properly, a web page should load asking for the user name and password to access PCBE, which you should have created during the install. the defaults are usually apc/apc for username/password.
see my attachment for further info. unfortunately we dont have an XL model so you cant see the field, but it should be on one of the sections.
