Hi,
I have a self built computer with antec power supply (below 500W), intel core 2 duo and 9800GT. Evey time I run the self test or powerchute automatic self test, my computer restarts when the green light becomes solid from blinking. However when I try to unplug the power cord from the UPS imagine a power outage it works perfectly with no restarts or shut down. I wonder what could cause the problem. I have also tried attached only a lamp to the UPS and run the self test under powerchute, the test runs fine and claims the unit is working normally.
UPS: BACK-UPS RS BR1200
Average: 200Watts in limit of 780Watts
Any reply would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Elton

You can also run a self test manually with no software or cable attached by just holding the power button for about 2 seconds. You will hear a beep and the flashing online LED will appear and the UPS will then begin a self-test.
Can you disconnect the USB cable ends from both the UPS (data port) and your PC, uninstall the PowerChute software, and then run this manual self-test?
Also, do you have any other load on the UPS besides the PC?
