We have a SmartUPS 1500 plus a backup generator. The backup generator, if working properly, should take about 10 seconds to restore power. The issue we have is that Power Chute initiates the server shutdown sequence even if the backup generator restores power.
I'm pretty sure we can configure a delay so that the shutdown sequence initiates after the generator should have restored power. If power is restored by the generator, will the shutdown sequence still initiate? Is there a way for PowerChute to recognize that power has been restored and not initiate the shutdown sequence?
A long time ago, Power Chute had this option, however, I cannot tell if this feature is still supported. The documentation is unclear to me.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
PowerChute can be configured to not start a shut down until the UPS has been on battery for x amount of time. So if the UPS is not running on battery the OS should not power down.

It should switch to AC unless the power coming from the generator is dirty. If the power is dirty the UPS will not switch from battery power to AC and therefore cause a shut down. Dirty power could be the sine wave being incorrect or the voltage to high or low. We have FAQ FA158891 that discusses using a Smart-UPS with a generator.
