Hi,
maybe my wish is uncommon, but i want my UPS sending hibernate mode to win10 PC immediately (1min waiting time is far too long).
In Personal edition i can only define 1min waiting time as minimum, i want it more or less instant starting to hibernate after AC power is lost.
Background info: i have a TP Link HS110 smart-plug installed before my Back Ups ES-700. When i want to shut down my PC i tell Alexa (Echo Dot) via voice command to turn off my HS110. Power off from HS110 initiates Back UPS to send a hibernate command to my PC. After PC is down the UPS also switches off power to PC.
Turning on works also via voice command thanks to "AC Powerloss -> ON" in Bios.
Voice command "Alexa turn computer on", activates HS-110, sends power to UPS and from there the PC starts booting automaticly.
In general its working great, BUT the 1min waiting time before shutting down my pc drains battery -15% each time i do this, and charging fully takes hours....
I would like to reduce the waiting time to 0 or maybe 5-10 seconds. Is this somehow possible with Personal edition?
KR
Daniel

Perhaps not the answer you're looking for, but could you use Alexa to directly turn your computer off and on? I see examples of doing so on the internet.
The UPS is designed to be directly connected to AC rather than externally switched on and off. This is because without power to run the battery charger, the lead acid battery will self-discharge shortening its service life. The on/off button on the UPS itself only turns the output off, not the battery charger.

Hi,
Alexa is good, but shutting down the pc is a missing feature so far, she can not do this on her own.
The shutdown ways you found in net all uses an extra pc running an java script to send shutdown to main pc. Maybe my horizon is limited, but i dont want to purchase an extra pc for shutting down the other...
Sure acid of battery got less over time if i dont power up again. But to be honest a cars battery also dont die over night i wont keep my pc off for weeks or month. The only watt consumer seems to be the usv led blinking.
Dont know how long it will take to drain a 700kv usv with a mini led but i guess it will least some weeks.
I agree keeping it off for several month could be a problem. But could u keep your pc off for so long, i cant 😉
So i got your point but i think the problem is very limited in my case. Correct me if i am wrong.
