CS 650 Problem - no power on power cut - help diagnose, please
Hi,
I have a CS 650 (BK650EI). The battery is around 2 years old. It measures over 13 volts on my digital multi-meter and 100% on Powerchute. Just to try to eliminate the battery, I also charged it to 100% using a CTEK smart charger on motor cycle setting.
The problem I'm seeing is:
- The unit powers on normally, passes the self-test etc. just as it always has.
- However, on a power cut I hear the relay fire and the unit makes all the expected warning noises etc.. Powerchute detects the power interruption. But there appears to be no power provided to the computer and monitor. (Note: I was running Powerchute on a separate laptop, for obvious reasons!)
- I have simulated power interruption with just the screen connected to mitigate the possibility that the battery is just insufficient. Given it measures over 13v on zero load, surely one would expect to see at least a few seconds of power to the screen in this situation? But the screen shows no signs of life in this situation.
The battery connections are definitely OK, as I have checked and rechecked.
So, my question is, does this seem like a battery issue, or is the unit faulty? (I have opened it up and see nothing obviously wrong.)
