What is the warranty period and procedure for a Backups XS 900( BX900R) that I purchased about 1 1/2 years ago. While it passes the self test with no problems reported as soon as I unplug the AC power cord the battery status in Powerchute drops from 16mins to 2 mins in a few seconds than after about 2 minutes the red light on the front of the UPS turns on and the UPS powers off. I dont have a spare pair of batteries to install to test this unit out but the last time I tried to simulate a black-out, about 3 months ago, everything ran fine and the UPS stayed up for at least 10 minutes.
The serial # is
jb0803010741
purchased on Feb 13th-2010
Have I even posted this in the correct location?
Thanks
John Anderson

yes, this is fine. the unit is from the beginning of 2008 so it may be time for a new battery. it may have been sitting on a shelf from before you purchased it. these have a three year warranty so if the unit indicates its out of warranty, explain that you purchased it 1.5 years ago and if you have the proof of purchase, provide it and request a replacement battery, which is what it sounds like you need. then, you can charge it up for 18 hours or so and check out that runtime amount. you can call in at 800-890-4272 and provide the model and serial number or esupport@apcc.com.
