When I came back from vacation I noticed my Backups 1000 PRO fully discharged and the PC connected to it off.
I thought the battery was dead so I order a replacement from Amazon.
I replaced the old battery with the new one and charged it overnight with the PC not connected to the Backups. The menu showed 60 minutes of estimated run time in minutes at 0 W load. The display showed a fully loaded battery.
I unplugged the Backups and plugged it into a different outlet and then connected the PC to the Backups. It started beeping immediately and showed 0 minutes of estimated run time and an empty battery.
To test the new battery I moved it to another Backups which showed it fully charged and with an estimated run time of 845 minutes at 0 W load.
My conclusion is that the battery is good and the Backups is bad. This is a unit manufactured in 2010 according to a sticker I found inside.
Can the unit be fixed or do I need to buy a new one?
Thanks,
Vlad

Hi Vlad,
The Back-UPS are not considered field serviceable, and the one spare part generally available for these would be the battery. You can try performing a braindead (logic reset) on the unit to see if that improves the behavior.
